Historic Temples and Shrines One of the must-visit destinations near Tokyo is Nikko, home to the stunning Toshogu Shrine. This UNESCO World Heritage site is known for its intricate carvings and beautiful architecture. Another popular spot is Kamakura, where you can find the iconic Great Buddha statue at Kotokuin Temple. These historic temples and shrines offer a glimpse into Japan's rich cultural heritage.

Natural Beauty For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Hakone region is the perfect retreat. Here, you can relax in hot springs while enjoying views of Mount Fuji. The nearby Fuji Five Lakes are also worth a visit, offering a peaceful setting for hiking and sightseeing. In the spring, the cherry blossoms in Chichibu make for a stunning display of natural beauty.

Traditional Culture To experience traditional Japanese culture, head to Kawagoe, also known as "Little Edo." This charming town is filled with well-preserved Edo-period buildings and offers a glimpse into Japan's past. For a taste of traditional crafts, visit the Omiya Bonsai Village in Saitama, where you can see intricate bonsai trees up close.

Culinary Delights No trip to Japan would be complete without sampling the local cuisine. In the town of Tsukiji, you can enjoy fresh seafood at the famous Tsukiji Fish Market. For a unique dining experience, head to the Yanaka district in Tokyo, known for its traditional street food stalls and cozy izakayas.

Whether you're interested in history, nature, culture, or food, the areas surrounding Tokyo have something for everyone. So next time you're in Japan, be sure to venture beyond the city limits and explore the hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

When I visited Japan in 2017 to feel the customs and culture there. In the summer of 2024, for the hope of my child, I will go to this country again.

Children always need to understand the customs and traditions of each country. Every summer vacation, they will be taken to a place, whether it is any place in China or other countries, and they must follow the schedule. Their father is not available during these time, so I will be the representative and take two children together with my friend on a trip.

This time, we will be traveling around Tokyo, and a week is enough to visit funning places. As for other attractions, we will make our own travel guides when our children grow up. The weather for this trip was very awesome. The plane was delayed the day before yesterday. It was sunny when we depart and we arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport successfully. The group will take the city subway to the hotel and meet with friends' children about one hours.
