Macau’s Charms Beyond the Exhibition Hall
-------Alleys, Tarts, and Wynn’s Magic
Today, we close the day for Macau exhibition, we decided to wander through the city walk on the streets and alleys—and what a charming surprise it was! The Portuguese-style buildings scattered around were absolutely fascinating, with their unique architectural details and nostalgic ambiance that made every step feel like a journey through time. There was an indescribable charm in those cobblestone lanes and pastel-colored facades, leaving us lingering and reluctant to leave.

Amidst the bustling energy of Rua do Cunha—Macau’s beloved food street famous for egg tarts and durian desserts—there’s a hidden gem that coffee lovers shouldn’t miss: the local-style coffee that blends Portuguese influence with Macanese warmth.
This isn’t your average café brew. Served in small, delicate ceramic cups (often with a side of a tiny spoon), or like above a bottle and the coffee here leans into rich, bold flavors with a smooth finish. Many stalls use a traditional Portuguese coffee-making method, where finely ground coffee beans are brewed slowly to extract deep, aromatic notes—think a hint of chocolate or caramel, without being overly bitter. What makes it extra special is how it fits right into the street’s snack culture
So after dinner, we headed straight to the famous Rua do Cunha (官也街)—a food lover’s paradise bustling with energy. The street was lined with countless snack stalls and local eateries, tempting us with all kinds of delicious treats. The highlight of our food adventure was the durian dessert from Mok Yi Ji (莫義记)—it was absolutely divine! Creamy, rich, and bursting with authentic durian flavor, each bite was pure satisfaction. Even now, when I think back, that sweet and aromatic taste still lingers on my lips.

We also tried Macau’s iconic Portuguese egg tarts—crispy on the outside, smooth and creamy on the inside, they melted in our mouths and left us craving more.

Wandering through the busy streets and savoring all the delicacies, we then made our way to Wynn Palace for the cable car ride. It was such a fun and breathtaking experience! Gliding gently above the lush gardens and sparkling fountains, we got a bird’s-eye view of the resort’s stunning scenery. The newer area of Macau felt like an upgraded, more glamorous version of the older district’s hotels—grand, modern, and incredibly picturesque.

By the time we returned to our hotel, our feet were tired but our hearts were full. As soon as I lay down on the bed, all the exhaustion from the day melted away. It was such a cozy and relaxing end to a perfect day of exploring, eating, and creating wonderful memories in Macau.
